Why not rather be wronged?

Job 34, 1 Corinthians 4-6

1 Corinthians 6:7-8

7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers.

How’s that for in-your-face confrontation? Paul has been preaching Love and Grace and Forgiveness. But what is one of the major failure points? Human nature and the desire for fairness. It’s our sense of equality, of not being taken advantage of. Paul says, “Why not rather be wronged?” Ask yourself, “Why not?” What does it matter, anyway? What are you losing? Did you really own it to begin with?
